Applies to Flows 2.0 (Beta) and Embeds. They share the same experience builder, so these steps work the same for both.

Save a step you've built as a reusable template, then add it to any future experience instead of rebuilding it. You can save Flows 2.0 Modal and Tooltip steps and Embed steps as templates.

Templates carry their styling with them, so a saved template looks right even when you add it to an experience that uses a different theme.

Save a step as a template

                    1. Select the step you want to reuse.
                    2. Open the step's options menu (the ⋯ menu in Step Settings) and choose to save it as a template.
                    3. Give the template a name and save it. It's now available as a Custom template the next time you add a step.

Add a step from a template

Click + in the step bar to add a step.

In the template picker, choose from:

                    • Custom — templates your team has saved.
                    • Built-in — starter templates from Appcues, to help you see what's possible.
                    • Start from scratch — a blank step.

Hover a template to see a full-size preview before you commit.

Click a template to add it as a new step.

                    Rename or delete a template

                    • Rename a template to change its name. This changes the name only, not the saved content.
                    • Delete a template when you no longer need it. Deletion is permanent — there's no archive.

                    How templates handle styling

When you save a template, its styles are baked in, so it always looks the way you designed it. When you add it to an experience, Appcues applies that experience's current theme — styles that match the theme fall in line with it, and any custom overrides you made are kept.
